Not one teaching method has the perfect solution for teaching every student and in every situation. It is up to each teacher to have a repertoire of teaching methods, from which to pull new ideas, instructions and delivery methods.

Some teaching methods will appeal more to one teacher than to another, mostly because of personality, the teacher's own learning style and the way they have been taught themselves.

While teaching Spanish as a second language to elementary school children, my goal is to imitate as closely as possible in the classroom the way they were taught their first language. The principle teaching methods I rely on are TPR, TPRS and the natuaral approach.
